Create your own apple trees by budding

Experienced horticulturist Peter Lindley will run this course at Landkey. It has been requested to enable the people of Landkey to propagate their own trees, but there are a limited number of places for OL members on a ‘first-come’ basis; booking is essential. Peter will demonstrate budding, and after practice participants can bud their own trees on the rootstocks (M25 and  MM106) which have already been lined out at Landkey. Trees will be ready for moving into your orchard in 2009.  You will need to bring bud wood, i.e. strong extension growth shoots, and knives if you have them. We will provide other materials and have knives for loan.  Most of the course will be outdoors, so be ready for a shower.

£5 (this includes five rootstocks for you to bud, with trees available at no extra cost in 2009). Places are limited and MUST be booked in advance.
