This informal ‘bring and buy’ mini-market will allow you to obtain scions or to exchange well-labelled scions from your own trees. A scion is a shoot of new growth about 12inches (30cm) long. To avoid spreading disease please ensure that scions are completely free of canker.

With scion, rootstock and grafting skills you can produce your own fruit tree(s). Everything you need for grafting will be available: knives, tape, wax and a limited number of M25 and MM106 rootstocks. There will be demonstrations of grafting as reminders to those who have already learned the skill.

This event will be followed by a grafting course - prebooking for the grafting course is essential!

At this ever-popular, indoor event participants learn how to propagate fruit trees through bench grafting. After a demonstration and some theory there is the opportunity to practise the skill. Knives are provided. Rootstocks and scions are available for a small charge.
